Apple Rolls Out 4 New Products

Earlier this month, Apple CEO Tim Cook led the rollout of four new Apple products: The new iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Pay and the Apple Watch. Analysts were impressed with the new products.

The iPhone 6 will be faster and more energy efficient. It will have clearer calling because it can transition from Wi-Fi calling to cellular networks, thus improving call quality under certain circumstances.

The iPhone 6 Plus boasts a larger screen with increased resolution. Both phones go on sale September 19th, but they can be pre-ordered now.

Apple Pay will enable users of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to make secure payments at specialized terminals. It uses a technology called “near-field communication” so shoppers can tap their phones at the checkout instead of swiping their credit card. Apple has partnered with American Express, MasterCard, Visa and retailers as diverse as McDonald’s and Whole Foods. Partner retailers are installing terminals and some major websites will be integrating Apple Pay with their iOS apps. Apple Pay is scheduled to roll out in the U.S. next month.

The Apple Watch is a combination timepiece, iPhone link (including Siri and GPS), and health and fitness device that comes in two sizes and six different bands. It will be available in early 2015.
